This 130 year old building has been newly renovated and brought back to life with amazing modern features and designs, while preserving its beautiful history and charm! From custom furniture by local craftsmen to commissioned art pieces, we have gone overboard to make sure our guests have a world-class experience during their stay at 506 Lofts.

This 575 SF loft features 16 foot tall ceilings, huge windows, and has amazingly married the aesthetics of a 130 year old building with the modern finishes today's travelers desire.

The Monkey Bar Loft has a queen size bed in the bedroom with a Casper Mattress, one full bathroom, and a Queen Joybird sleeper sofa in the living area. Comfortably will sleep up to 4 guests. You will be welcomed with a basket of local goodies upon arrival. A book with information about the area, best restaurants, parking information, maps, etc. is provided in the unit. The loft also has a fully equipped kitchen with coffee provided. We supply lush towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, an iron, a hair dryer and more! We offer high-definition cable TV and high-speed wifi as well. This loft shares a washer and dryer with one other unit that is yours to use free of charge.

The Monkey Bar Loft pays homage to the food counter located at Harvey's Department Store that existed at 506 Church Street from the 1940s to the 1980s. The food counter was called the Monkey Bar due to the fact that live monkeys were at the bar. We cannot make this stuff up. (Read more about our buildings history below!)

-Guest Access-

Guests will have access to the entire unit as well as shared laundry facilities with one other unit.

Prior to your arrival, you will receive a unique keypad code that will serve as your keys to the property. This code will unlock the main door to the building, your unit, as well as the stairwell door and elevator.

Although there is not on-site parking, there is a wide array of affordable parking extremely close to the building. Upon booking your stay, we will send you a detailed parking guide so you have no problem getting to the building or finding somewhere to park!

-The Neighborhood-

Listed as one of the top places to visit in the country, downtown Nashville attracts tourists from around the world as well as residents from down the street with its wide variety of restaurants, entertainment, live music, sports and sights. 506 Lofts is steps from all that Nashville has to offer. From restaurants to historic venues, everything is right around the corner.

We are hopeful that our guests will be out exploring the city and spending minimal time in their loft. However, when they are spending time in the loft, we have made every effort to make sure it feels like home.

Located in the heart of downtown Nashville, 506 Lofts is one block from the Ryman Auditorium and two blocks from the nightlife on Broadway. We are also only 1 block from Printer's Alley and right next door to the famous Puckett's Restaurant. Our location cannot be beat. For our business travelers, we are only three blocks away from the Nashville Convention Center. Due to the convenient location of the lofts, you can leave your car at home and explore the city by foot.

-Getting Around-

ON FOOT
With so many options for dining and entertainment just steps away, you can get to most places by foot! Your unit will include a detailed map that shows the wonderful places you can visit in just a few blocks.

UBER AND LYFT
Both of these ride-sharing companies have a strong presence in Nashville. Whether it is midday or midnight, just open your UBER or LYFT app on your smartphone and a ride will appear within minutes.

TAXIS
Nashville, like any other city, has taxis of all shapes and colors. There are so many taxi companies that we really cannot recommend any one over another, and we encourage you to investigate rates and reviews to find one that suits your needs.

MTA BUSES
The MTA (Metro Transit Authority) Buses run all over Metro Nashville and even some surrounding counties. Very reasonable fares and the wide range of routes make the bus a cheap and easily navigable choice for visitors. The Music City Circuit route is free and includes many stops along key points of downtown Nashville.

NASHVILLE B-CYCLE
Nashville's bicycle sharing program has been a huge success with locals and tourists. Simply walk up to any Nashville B-Cycle station, swipe your credit card and pick out your red bike!

BIRD SCOOTERS
Bird is a mobile app that gives you access to shared personal electric scooters that can be picked up and dropped off anywhere. Simply download the app, find a scooter near you, and start riding!

As soon as you step foot in Nashville, you'll notice that the skyline is peppered with cranes and other signs of the booming construction that is happening. For most people, any construction sound will be unnoticeable, but as we cannot control or predict what work is being done, we've added sound machines and ear plugs just in case you need them!

-History of 506 Church Street-

The history of 506 Church Street runs deep in Nashville's development to the city it is today.

Built in 1880, Church Street started out as a dry goods store in what used to be considered the "heart of retail activity" in Nashville. Beginning in the 1940s, the building became home to Harvey's Department Store which occupied the building until the 1980s. Harvey's was one of Nashville's most popular department stores. The owner, Fred Harvey Sr., was a showman. He gave Nashville the most unique and exciting shopping experience that people had ever seen. Harvey's was the home of Nashville's first escalator and had a horse carousel inside the store. Additionally, Harvey's had a food counter called The Monkey Bar complete with live monkeys! We thought this was so cool that we named this loft after it!

Harvey's closed its downtown location in 1984 as more and more retailers moved out to the suburbs. Petway-Reavis men's store relocated to 506 Church after being in their previous location for over 70 years. They closed their doors in 2003 and sold the building to Mr. John Di and his wife who operated Pacifica Asian restaurant. The Di's sold the property in 2015 to the current owners. The upper floors, where the 506 Lofts are located, had not been occupied for over 30 years. It has truly been a labor of love to restore the floors to their former glory and restore the history of this remarkable property
